• Day 1: Arrival at Kuusamo, scouting

After your arrival at the airport, we’ll move right away towards our hotel to complete the check in; the days are really short at this time of the year, so the chances are that after we settled at the hotel it will be already dark outside. Don’t worry though: as soon as we are ready we’ll go out and start to scout those forests, hunting for the green lady, the aurora borealis! Weather permitting, we hope to see it and to take some beautiful shots.

• Day 2: Riisitunturi National Park

Today we’ll officially start to venture into those magic, completely frozen forests, the subject which probably took you all the way up there;

Riisitunturi National Park is (obviously) a park with many trails, which we’ll hike back and forth during this days; we’ll start by reaching the “Riisitunturi” peak, from which we can enjoy a beautiful view over the Kitkajarvi lake and of course of the white out forests typical of Lapland. We’ll spend both sunrise and sunset in the park, but since the temperatures are really cold, we may have to return back to our hotel to warm up a little bit in the short afternoon.

During the night, if the weather will permit, we’ll be out again for northern lights hunting!

• Day 3: Riisitunturi National Park, Myllikosky

Today we’ll return back again in the Riisitunturi NP, hoping for some different weather conditions than the day before and looking for some different points of view; shooting possibilities are endless, so we won’t get bored for sure! Other than the “classic” frozen trees, today we’ll visit also Myllykosky, another location immersed in the forest and crossed by a beautiful river, where with a little bit of luck we could manage to shot some ice chunks moving around the river bed.

No need to say that after dark we’ll return out again to shot northern lights!

• Day 4: Sunrise at Riisitunturi, drive till Akaslompolo (Pallas- Yllastunturi National Park)

After our sunrise session immersed in the frozen trees, we’ll do one of the best transfer you’ve probably ever done in your life. A 3 hours drive where you’ll see landscapes, lights and colors that only Lapland can give. It’s impossible to describe it with words!

We’ll do a few stops on our way to shot, and we’ll arrive at our new hotel after sunrset. Once we freshened up and ready to leave, we’ll go out to hunt the lights!
At a short distance from Akaslompolo there’s Akasmylly, an enchanting area reachable within a 10 minutes walk with a view on the river; with the northern lights in the sky is the perfect place to capture some incredible photos.

• Day 5: Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park, Kuertunturi

Once again we’ll find ourselves into the frozen Lappish forests, this time even more towards North than the previous days; the goal for the day is to reach the Kuertunturi peak, the easiest of the ones in the area. The hike will take more or less 45 minutes; 45 minutes if you don’t stop every two minutes to take photos.. Which is almost impossible! So, it’s safe to say it will take a lot more than that.

• Day 6: Akasmylly, Kuertunturi

For the sunrise session we’ll visit Akasmylly again, location that we should have already discovered during the previous nights during our northern lights hunt; with the first lights of the day, it will be possible to capture some incredible light plays over the river and the trees.

For sunset, we’ll return back again to the Kuertunturi, to shot for one last time those frozen landscapes.

• Day 7: Departure from Kittila Airport

Sad day today, this will be our last day of the tour; I’ll drive you to the Kittila airport (an hour from Akaslompolo) from where you’ll take your flights back home.
